This weekend was chillin nonetheless... went out of town on a work trip, came back Sunday and then spent time with the wifey
On Sunday we went on a 3 hour walk down the beach and it was beautiful. We got to explore certain parts of the beach area that i had never ventured off to and i have a new, grander appreciation for living by the beach. It reminded me of how fortunate i am to live in such a beautiful area and live a quality life. Its small things like this that we take for granted in our lives. Sometimes we just a small reminder or a deep breath to regain focus on whats important to us. Often we catch ourselves engulfed in work or achieving our goals, and we forget about the things or people we are grateful for. Life is all about balance and doing what makes you and your partner happy(unless youre single lol). I felt like we got some quality time on our walk and i am already looking forward to the next one. Finally, this upcoming weekend i return to West Palm Beach to play at the Vandal Warehouse alongside Danny Shawn and David Facada. The last time was so much, im really looking forward to it. Time to prepare myself and get my music ready... stay tuned for more details :))) This past weekend was full of amazing music and gathering of friends. It was another All Day I Dream affair and to kick things off, we had the return of the iconic Lost Desert on Friday night! Not only was it cool that he was playing in my city, but it was cool that i had the chance to open up for him once again. What an honor! Not only because Patrick(Lost Desert) is so iconic, but because of he is an amazing person and has a great, friendly vibe.
Now on to the music... I played a deep and dreamy set to set the vibe.. my bros Surreal Flight came on after me and took it to the next level, as always. These guys honestly dont getthe credit they deserve and are one the best locals in Miami... then at about 2am Lost Desert got on... wow!!! What a genius. His musical selection and programming was impressive. He was mind-blowing the first time he played at Do Not Sit, and this time was nothing short of it :) his set left me full of inspiration and motivated for the following day... Saturday was just as awesome as Friday as my day started off with Swedish pancakes and nutella made by my wife, and then going to the beach with her and one of my old friends from College. Despite the beach being dirty because of the Hurricane that hit a few weeks ago, it was still beautiful... Later on, i was back at Do Not Sit; this time with Death on the Balcony. Instead of the usual opening duties, i was on after Bryan Silversteinb2bIvan James, and right before DOTB. Bryan and Ivan played an awesome warmup, full of warm and groovy tunes that had the crowd dancing. They set the vibe perfectly. It's amazing to play when the vibe is so nice and thick. I got on a little past midnight and the room was already full. Awesome... I played a bit groovy but still with that ADID touch of beautiful melodies and pads. I ended my set with a track I had started only two days prior to the event, although I wasnt sure how the crowd was going to react. However the crowd had a positive reaction and kept dancing (DOTB liked it as well). It made me really happy to see people dance to one of my tunes; it is a really rewarding feeling... Next was DOTB... these guys are amazing! They have a unique style of playing that is second to none. Not only that but they are amazing people. They are just as warm and friendly as their music; It was great conencting with them. They tooke early into the morning hours on a musical journey. On a side note: I am so lucky to have such an amazing wife and circle of friends who support me. I honestly dont know how i could go on without them (especially my wife). My next confirmed date is Oct 7th, where i return to the Vandal Warehouse! Stay tuned for more details and updates... Until next time friends! <3 So i have been missing in action the past couple of weeks due to a heavy work load, Hurricane Irma and a few other events, and for that i apologize... Here's a recap of what happened the last month or so: August 19th i had the honor to open up for Yokoo! It was one of those nights where the club is packed earlier than usual, and is filled with good energy. It was nice playing to a full room. Surreal Flight took over after and had the crowd in a frenzy. They were perfect.. next was Yokoo. The people in Miami really love Yokoo and you could feel the anticipation in the room. As usual he was awesome! It was great seeing him and catching him live again. I also recorded my set that night! You can hear it on my soundcloud. August 26th i was back at Do Not Sit... this time I went b2b with my bros Surreal Flight in the warm up before our dear friend Powel. As always it was a pleasure playing b2b with Surreal, and even better that it was before one of my favorite artists. Powel is one of those artists that is amazing as both a producer and a DJ; the complete package. Not only that but hes an amazing person. I must say that his set was amazing! From first track he was on point. It sucks that he was only in Miami for one day and that we couldnt get to hang with him, but it was great to catch up with him. The next gig was supposed to be September 8, as Watergate artist Patlac was going to make his debut, but due to Hurricane Irma the club had to close, and my wife and i were forced to evacuate :/ we packed our stuff and headed north to Atlanta to stay with my sister and brother in law. It was great to see them again and spend time with my new-born nephew and my niece. After 6 days and getting clearance to enter Miami Beach (after the hurricane hit), it was time to head back. Luckily, the hurricane shifted and didnt hit Miami directly, so we got lucky and did not get much damage to our property. Finally, everything is running back to normal! Hope you guys have a great week and i apologize once again for having been missing in action :) This past weekend left me inspired and full of joy. The weekend included hanging out with some old friends, my wife and music. Friday was a chill day in as my wife and I spent the night Netflix and chilling. The following day we headed to the beach where my friend Carlos and his GF (Sofia) met up with us. We chilled, had a few beers and good time. A little after they left our apartment, Danny (my childhood friend/old music partner) came over to my apartment to hang for a bit before going to Do Not Sit. It had been a while since Danny has seen me play live so i was excited for him to come to the club. Not only was i excited because of that but also because I was playing b2b with Magician on Duty for the first time. He's a great guy and DJ as well. We got the club and before opening I could feel it was going to be a good night; and it was. Magician on Duty and myself got into a groove and played until about 1:45am before David Hohme (who was making his Do Not Sit debut). There was a good energy in the room when David got on and he crushed it. I had never seen him live before and he was awesome. He is a great guy and was full of good energy. I hope David gets booked again after a great performance; he definitely deserves it. What really resonated with me was that during my b2b with Magician, i tested 3 new tracks of mine and got a great response from the people on the dancefloor. I was actually scared of playing my tracks as i wasnt sure how people were gonna react. It was very humbling and satisfying to see my work getting a positive reaction. Its been a long time coming and all the hours of hardwork and trial and error paid off. So i now have a few weeks off from music, as i am off to Sweden in the near future with the wifey for a couple of weeks. Im excited as it is my first time. Its gonna be great to live new experiences and disconnect from the music for a little. This break is gonna allow me to hit August with full force and hopefully pump out a few new releases with a clear mind. Until next time :) |
